Created as a personal project, this piece allowed me to focus on sculpting and observational study. The aim was to create a realistic stone sculpture of a snapping turtle while exploring anatomy, form, and surface detail. I gathered a wide range of references of both snapping turtles and traditional stone sculptures to study their distinctive features and material qualities. The model was sculpted in ZBrush, textured in Mari, and rendered in Houdini.
