The Timekeeper
(Spider Asset)

The Timekeeper is a VFX short film about a mechanical clockwork spider that repairs an old grandfather clock to restore the flow of time. Created by a team of five, the project combines live-action footage with CG assets.

I was responsible for the creation and final design of the clockwork spider, the film's main character. I developed the final concept before creating the hard-surface model in Maya. Decorative engravings and finer surface details were sculpted in ZBrush, with supporting maps generated in Substance Painter. The final textures were created in Mari.

I also developed several key look development elements in Houdini, including the gemstone eyes and the illuminated ring housed within the pocket watch. Throughout production, I worked closely with the rigger, animator, and environment artist to ensure the asset met both technical and creative requirements, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into the final film and effectively support the storytelling.
