Besides my 3D work, I also dedicate time to developing my 2D skills, including both traditional and digital drawing for concept art. Character design is one of my favourite and strongest areas within this discipline. This project was a Level 4 Semester A brief, in which we received new character descriptions each week and gradually developed additional details over time. My character, Milly, is a creative and crafty teenage girl who loves fashion, sewing, and helping animals (although not always in the most professional way!)

I gathered extensive references and explored multiple design variations before reaching the final outcome. The completed portfolio includes a final illustration, a turnaround sheet, pose explorations, and a character collage. The primary materials used were coloured pencils, watercolours, and ink pens.

As much as I am passionate about creating 3D assets, I also really enjoy projects like these. They help spark my creativity and allow me to refocus on my 3D work after stepping away from the computer and returning with fresh eyes.

These kinds of projects enable me to further develop my creative and aesthetic sensibilities, which I can then apply to my 3D practice. By combining technical skills with a strong creative eye, I am able to produce more refined and thoughtful work.
